Psoakoonaloose me

— You’re a nice third degree witness, faith! But this is no laughing matter. Do you think we are tonedeafs in our noses to boot? Can you not distinguish the sense, prain, from the sound, bray? You have homosexual catheis of empathy between narcissism of the expert and steatopygic invertedness. Get yourself psychoanolised!
— O, begor, I want no expert nursis symaphy from yours broons quadroons and I can psoakoonaloose myself any time I want (the fog follow you all!) without your interferences or any other pigeonstealer.

More from the world of the web meme. Current favourites doing the rounds include various blog analysers which are by no means scientific but which curiosity impels one to try out anyway. The Typealyzer subjects your words to a Myers-Briggs Type personality test which in my case reveals me to be in the INTP class:

The Thinkers
The logical and analytical type. They are especialy (sic) attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.

They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

I’ve never tried a proper Meyers-Briggs test but the above seems quite accurate if anything so vaguely algorithmic can ever be thus described. I did try an Enneagram test a while ago and came out as a Four (The Individualist) which is more applicable than the others on that scale.

Back at the web testing, the GenderAnalyzer rates { feuilleton } as 99% male based on the aforementioned “logical and analytical” writing style. So much for gay men being more feminine… I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed by this. I obviously need to get in touch with my inner drag queen, in which case the Drag Queen Name Generator would be a place to start.

  1. I’ve had some rather alarming and not at all accurate results from Meyers-Briggs type tests in the past … but the Drag Queen Name Generator kind of hit the spot.

It ended up as Notorious F.A.G.

    hehe …

So John … what is your inner drag queen name?

Do share with us … :)

  2. Hmm…yours is a far more witty choice than “Unita Lay”. As far as dressing up goes, I’d probably suit some kind of Morticia Addams outfit, I’m certainly slim enough although I lack the hips. I should look through my Charles Addams book for a name that’s darkly glamorous.

  3. Bah, everyone else gets better names and Evan gets one which suits a Clive Barker fan as well… Charles Addams isn’t much help, unfortunately, so rather than sulk I’ll choose Bella Donna which I’m sure has been used by someone before but seems suitably Morticia-esque.

  4. John, you could always be Ophelia, Morticia’s sister. Her mother was Hester, her grandmother was Esmerelda.

Of course, if you wanna go down that side of the family, you’re stuck with the last name ‘Frump’.

    Love from your faithful INFP,
    Zsa Zsa LaHore.

  5. I forgot about Ophelia. I’m not sure I want to be moping around with a bunch of flowers, or be a Frump for that matter. I covet Morticia’s enormous wicker chair and her smoking dragon. And black suits me, as well you know.

  6. Humph, according to that Gender Analyser thing, there is an 84% chance that my blog is written by a man. I don’t think it’s very accurate – though a friend did once tell me that I am a gay man trapped in the body of a woman…

  7. I’m curious to know what their algorithms look for since they don’t have any explanation; is there really such a thing as male and female writing style? I wonder what it would make of, say, Susan Sontag?

  8. GenderAnalysis says my blog is 66% female! Who knew — maybe it’s all the Topor? Typealyzer thinks I’m a Doer, which I would never have suspected (except the part about being “more keen on starting something new than following it through”). Yours, Lotta Estrogen (are these sites in cahoots).

  9. Your pages may skew things with the quotes from other people, Will. I would have taken Topor to be rather savagely masculine even with Le Locataire chimérique’s cross-dressing…

  10. Im za za la whore

if we could combine the enneagram test with the drag name generator i think we’d really be onto something.!
