Wagner the transvestite?

Wagner the transvestite?

Now the image of Wagner in pink bloomers is a great tickling thought but I cannot help but feel that it is just about as irrelevant to his music as is Dali’s potential insanity is to his painting…

Yeah, it has no bearing on his music. I wonder what Aubrey Beardsley would have thought, had he known. Beardsley was a great Wagner aficionado with a similarly inordinate interest in female clothing. In his case that was a help where some of his drawing was concerned.
