Coilhouse <a href=\"http:\/\/coilhouse.net\/2011\/03\/mother-and-muse-margo-and-theo-selski\/\" target=\"_blank\">profiled artist and model<\/a> earlier in the week. Some of these paintings mix oil with beeswax which is something I&#8217;ve not come across before.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The <a href=\"http:\/\/periwinklejournal.com\" target=\"_blank\">Periwinkle Journal<\/a>&#8216;s first issue will be available online, free, from March 22nd until mid-June, featuring work by filmmaker and artist\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hansscheirl.jimdo.com\" target=\"_blank\">Hans Scheirl <\/a>(<em>Dandy Dust<\/em>), artwork and collages by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/genesisbreyerporridge.com\" target=\"_blank\">Genesis Breyer P-Orridge<\/a>, a 7-page colour comic by\u00a0<a href=\"dirtycharon.tumblr.com\/ \" target=\"_blank\">Mavado Charon<\/a>, artwork by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/timothy-cummings.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Timothy Cummings<\/a>, artwork and installations by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssion.com\" target=\"_blank\">Cody Chritcheloe\/SSION<\/a>, photos by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.meganmantia.com\" target=\"_blank\">Megan Mantia<\/a>, Science-Heroes by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.petermaxlawrence.com\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Max Lawrence<\/a>, an illustration portfolio by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/designnurd.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Diego G\u00f3mez<\/a>, selections from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/queer_photography\/\" target=\"_blank\">queer photography pool on Flickr<\/a>, reviews and other stuff. More later.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Quietus <a href=\"http:\/\/thequietus.com\/articles\/05828-c86-and-all-that\" target=\"_blank\">wanted to remind us<\/a> that this year is the 25th anniversary of the <em>NME<\/em>&#8216;s <em>C86<\/em> compilation tape, a collection that sought to capture a moment of ferment but which inadvertently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tangents.co.uk\/tangents\/main\/2002\/nov\/c86.html\" target=\"_blank\">inspired too much dreary sub-Velvet Underground pop<\/a>. I&#8217;d rather celebrate the 30th anniversary of the <em>NME<\/em>&#8216;s <em>C81<\/em> compilation, a far more diverse collection and musically superior.
