It was just over a year ago that I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/2010\/01\/22\/queer-noise-in-manchester\/\" target=\"_self\">designed a poster<\/a> for the Queer Noise music event which preceded the online collection; writer and journalist Jon Savage was the host that evening and he&#8217;s provided an intro for the site. And speaking of queer noises, I&#8217;ve been told recently that John Gill&#8217;s 1995 book of that name, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upress.umn.edu\/Books\/G\/gill_queer.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Queer Noises: Male and Female Homosexuality in Twentieth-Century Music<\/em><\/a> is shortly to be republished in an updated edition. No further details as yet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/french-big.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/french.jpg\" alt=\"french.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, back at the buttocks, it seems that Morrissey swiped his cover photo for the first Smiths single from <em>The Nude Male<\/em> (1978) by Margaret Walters.
