Editor Charles Molin collected nineteen ghost stories by writers including Oscar Wilde (<em>The Canterville Ghost<\/em>), Charles Dickens (<em>The Signal-Man<\/em>), J. Sheridan Le Fanu (<em>Madame Crowl&#8217;s Ghost<\/em>) and HG Wells (<em>The Inexperienced Ghost<\/em>). This was one of my favourite books when I was ten-years old. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/books\/2009\/jun\/01\/puffin-childrens-books-penguin-archive\" target=\"_blank\">There&#8217;s nuffin like a Puffin<\/a>. Puffin Books&#8217; parent company, Penguin, is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/books\/2010\/jun\/30\/penguin-books-75th-birthday\" target=\"_blank\">75 this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The good people at the Outer Alliance have posted an interview with me <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.outeralliance.org\/archives\/606\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> in which I talk about the subversive sexualities of sf in the 1970s and also admit to writing fiction.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 There&#8217;s just time to mention <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macarts.co.uk\/page\/3648\/It+Came+From+Pebble+Mill+Weekend\/36\" target=\"_blank\">It Came From Pebble Mill<\/a>, an event which includes another screening of David Rudkin&#8217;s <a href=\"..\/2010\/03\/22\/pendas-fen-by-david-rudkin\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Penda&#8217;s Fen<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;In our society, there has tended to be a very strong compartmentalization of different experiences, different cultural forms, different genres. We can talk in a very broad sense and say art is separate from science, for example, or body is separate from mind, or we can talk in a specific sense and say one certain form of dance music is separate from one form of, say, heavy metal. I don&#8217;t really buy those compartmentalizations.
