The photo is by Flickr user <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/daviddasinger\/4606000232\/in\/pool-1436382@N23\" target=\"_blank\">David Dasinger<\/a> and similar views can be found in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/1436382@N23\/pool\/\" target=\"_blank\">this Flickr pool<\/a>. Huan&#8217;s copper figures may be intended to evoke Buddhist serenity but I can never see that plaza without remembering the horrible ending of Philip Kaufman&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0077745\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Invasion of the Body Snatchers<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Three Heads Six Arms<\/em> is part of a series of monumental works depicting the fragmented extremities of Buddhist statues. The series was inspired by Zhang\u2019s discovery of religious sculptures that had been destroyed during the Cultural Revolution for sale in a Tibetan market.
