Unlike an earlier version by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/tremois1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Pierre Yves Tr\u00e9mois<\/a>, this seems copied directly from Flandrin&#8217;s painting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Note Hermosa Beach but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/2014\/08\/08\/the-recurrent-pose-54\/\">the Cimeti\u00e8re d\u2019Ixelles, Brussels<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on { feuilleton }<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/the-recurrent-pose-archive\/\">The recurrent pose archive<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t have any information as to the location of this statue (Hermosa Beach?) or the identity of the artist, unfortunately, but it&#8217;s another rare example of the Flandrin pose done as a sculpture.
