Paul Gorman was one of the contributors to the lengthy comments thread and I&#8217;m really pleased to see him take up the challenge to bring Barney&#8217;s work to a wider and, one hopes, new audience. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adelita.co.uk\/reasons\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Reasons To Be Cheerful<\/em><\/a> (title borrowed from an Ian Dury song) is scheduled to be published by Adelita in November 2008.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/2007\/01\/20\/barney-bubbles-artist-and-designer\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/bb.jpg\" alt=\"bb.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>left: Doremi Fasol Latido by Hawkwind (1972).<\/em><br \/>\n<em>right: Ian Dury &amp; the Blockheads logo design (late 70s).<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe was so good I couldn&#8217;t have really competed with him.\u201d<br \/>\nSir Peter Blake<\/p>\n<p><em>Reasons To Be Cheerful<\/em> is a celebration of the life and work of one of the greatest designers of recent times: Barney Bubbles.<\/p>\n<p>Bubbles\u2014real name Colin Fulcher\u2014was a giant of graphic design whose prodigious output is revered by musicians, artists, fellow designers and music and pop culture fans.<\/p>\n<p><em>Reasons To Be Cheerful<\/em> is published November 2008 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the artist\u2019s death.
