A preview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bdgest.com\/preview-4545-BD-lune-et-le-serpent-recit-complet.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> shows how carefully they&#8217;ve managed to translate and reletter my page designs.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Among the new titles at Standard Ebooks, the home of free, high-quality, public-domain texts: <a href=\"https:\/\/standardebooks.org\/ebooks\/algernon-blackwood\/john-silence-stories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Algernon Blackwood&#8217;s stories of John Silence<\/a>, occult detective.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Relevant to some of my recent reading: <a href=\"https:\/\/fakegeekboy.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/10\/the-necronomicon-wars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The <em>Necronomicon<\/em> Wars<\/a>, an examination of the many attempts to give life to HP Lovecraft&#8217;s fictional grimoire.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Altered States<\/em> is tremendously exciting to watch\u2014and not only during its psychedelic interludes when goat Jesus is being crucified and writhing red figures are toppling, Hieronymus Bosch\u2013like, into hell and abstract splotches give the impression of cells endlessly dividing or murky membranes dissolving and beautiful women stare into Magritte skies and waves of lava crash as though the molten core of humanity itself were erupting. Even in its quieter moments, it is a beautiful film, with Hurt\u2019s every appearance shot by cinematographer Jordan Cronenweth to emphasize his character\u2019s alien otherworldliness.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.criterion.com\/current\/posts\/8958-altered-states-visions-and-divisions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jessica Kiang<\/a> explores the creation of Ken Russell&#8217;s flawed but fascinating psychedelic feature, Altered States<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2022 A new catalogue of lots at another <a href=\"https:\/\/auction.vallots.com\/auctions\/vallot-auctioneers\/after-dark-autumn-20522\/catalog#catalog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">After Dark: Gay Art and Culture<\/a> online auction.
