The picture above\u2014a typical indicator of her current concerns\u2014is featured on the cover of a new edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tinhouse.com\/mag_current_home.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Tin House<\/em><\/a>, a collection of fantasy stories by women.<\/p>\n<p>All Heffernan&#8217;s paintings are very detailed oil on canvas and no doubt look a lot better at a larger size.
