The text describes a series of visions of animated skeletons that Ikkyu had when he visited an abandoned temple. The lively illustrations testify to their maker\u2019s sardonic sense of humour: he images skeletons dancing, drumming, drinking sake, having sex.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 At The Daily Heller: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.printmag.com\/daily-heller\/the-daily-heller-victor-moscosos-psychedelic-valedictory-exhibit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victor Moscoso\u2019s Psychedelic Valedictory Exhibit<\/a>. The exhibition will be at the <a href=\"https:\/\/cultura.cervantes.es\/nuevayork\/en-US\/Moscoso-Cosmos.-El-universo-visual-de-Victor-Moscoso\/165408\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instituto Cervantes<\/a> in New York City which has an accompanying 224-page catalogue of Moscoso&#8217;s posters and other designs.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 More Moscoso: <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/color-1st-edition-1971-sir-real\/mode\/2up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Color<\/em><\/a> (1971) and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/moscoso-comix-no.-1-1989-c-2c-fylgja\/mode\/2up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Moscoso Comix<\/em><\/a> (1989), free to download at the Internet Archive. Moscoso&#8217;s underground comics experimented with the form in a manner that still looks radical today.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Drone and ambient metal is often invoked in elemental terms. There is something antediluvian and <em>beyond<\/em> about it. Pierce the earth\u2019s crust, and there is liquid fire, ever so slowly shifting the tectonic plates we inhabit. Such music is envisaged as massive and totally beyond our control. It infuses the foundations of civilization. As Attila Csihar intones on Sunn O))) track \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/sunn.bandcamp.com\/track\/aghartha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aghartha<\/a>\u2019, named for a legendary subterranean kingdom: \u201cInto the memories of the consciousness of ancient rocks\/ Nature\u2019s answer to eternal question\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Stripped of the trappings of modern pop and rock, ambient metal invites a search for answers to the bigger questions. Ancient musical modes are resurfaced to get us closer to a putative godhead.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/thequietus.com\/articles\/33570-earth-2-special-low-frequency-version-reissue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dan Franklin<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/earthsl.bandcamp.com\/album\/earth-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earth 2<\/a>, the deceptively-titled debut album by Earth.
