Thirty years later, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/Weird_Tales_v45n01_1953-03_ATLPM-Urf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one of the last issues from the initial run<\/a> had Slime by Joseph Payne Brennan as the story featured on its cover. The magazine maintained a viscous consistency if nothing else. Tentacular art by RR Epperly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A big surprise in yesterday&#8217;s Bandcamp Friday was the announcement of <a href=\"https:\/\/dinrecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/singularity-din78\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Singularity<\/em><\/a>, a new album by synth ensemble Node. Or new-ish since the previously unreleased recording is almost 30 years old:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Singularity<\/em> is the legendary \u201clost\u201d Node album. Recorded at the same time as their original sessions in 1994 this has DiN stalwart Dave Bessell join Buller &amp; Flood alongside original member Gary Stout who was later replaced by Mel Wesson for the two DiN releases. Presented here for the first time, mastered to modern standards but otherwise untouched and in its original form and recorded to two track with no overdubs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Node have never been very prolific\u2014two decades separate their first album from their second\u2014so this was very welcome. The new release includes a bonus addition of the 16-minute version of <em>Terminus<\/em>, one of their best pieces which has only been available previously on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FokauQqKbyk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a scarce CD-single<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Steven Watson at Print Mag on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.printmag.com\/print-design\/skeuomorphic-magazine-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skeuomorphic magazine design that turns print into play<\/a>. Now I want to design a book that fits inside a cassette box.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 RIP jazz giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2023\/mar\/02\/wayne-shorter-obituary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wayne Shorter<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/music\/story\/2023-03-03\/david-lindley-guitarist-jackson-browne-dies-79\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Lindley<\/a>, co-founder of one of my favourite psychedelic groups, the incredible <a href=\"http:\/\/brunoceriotti.weebly.com\/kaleidoscope.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaleidoscope<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 S.
