Interesting seeing how many publishers have tried to bracket Dick as a typical science fiction writer when many of his books are marginal sf at best. Then there&#8217;s the curiosity of the translated title, <em>Substance Mort<\/em> for <em>A Scanner Darkly<\/em> being one example.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Odd coincidence dept. (well, it&#8217;s PKD, right?), having posted the above last night I find today that Dick enthusiast Erik Davis is <a href=\"http:\/\/totaldickhead.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/cover-of-day-with-special-guest-erik.html\" target=\"_blank\">discussing the DAW cover<\/a> (above, right) over at Total Dick Head. Thanks to this we discover that the artist is <a href=\"http:\/\/well-of-souls.com\/tower\/dt_pepper.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Bob Pepper<\/a> who produced the classic cover art for Love&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/c\/c8\/Love_-_forever_changes.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Forever Changes<\/em><\/a> album.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update 2:<\/strong> Henri alerts us to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkdickbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">his own PKD site<\/a> which also includes even more cover scans (and thumbnails this time), including those from French editions.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on { feuilleton }<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/the-book-covers-archive\/\">The book covers archive<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>650 Philip K Dick covers here although no thumbnails for ease of browsing.
