I was involved with the first iteration of the <em>Atmospherics<\/em> when we were working on his site in 2004, and for me this section was always the most interesting part of the project, comprising unique, personal material. The book will be published in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;Almost everything in his book would be dismissed by today\u2019s streaming behemoths as &#8216;too quirky, too local, too slow, too dry, too difficult, too weird&#8217;.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2021\/aug\/13\/the-magic-box-by-rob-young-review-a-spirited-history-of-television\" target=\"_blank\">Sukhdev Sandhu<\/a> reviewing <em>The Magic Box<\/em>, a history of British TV from the 1950s to the 1980s by Rob Young.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 New music: <a href=\"https:\/\/marcoshuttle.bandcamp.com\/album\/cobalt-desert-oasis\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Cobalt Desert Oasis<\/em><\/a> by Marco Shuttle, <a href=\"https:\/\/biosphere.bandcamp.com\/album\/angels-flight\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Angel&#8217;s Flight (AD 93)<\/em><\/a> by Biosphere, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ayearinthecountry.bandcamp.com\/album\/the-shildam-hall-tapes-the-falling-reverse\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Shildam Hall Tapes: The Falling Reverse<\/em><\/a> by Stephen Prince, a sequel to an earlier release by A Year In The Country which includes an accompanying novella.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mix of the week, month and year: Sentimental Ornament: A Broadcast Rarities Mix by <a href=\"https:\/\/aquariumdrunkard.com\/2020\/09\/28\/sentimental-ornament-a-broadcast-rarities-mix\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aquarium Drunkard<\/a>.
