The latter concentrated on the first phase of the group&#8217;s Virgin recordings, up to and including <em>Force Majeure<\/em>. This October will see the release of a new set, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.synthtopia.com\/content\/2020\/09\/10\/new-tangerine-dream-box-set-pilots-of-purple-twilight-the-virgin-recordings-1980-1983\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Pilots Of Purple Twilight<\/em><\/a>, which explores the rest of the Virgin period when Johannes Schmoelling had joined Froese and Franke. Among the exclusive material will be a proper release of the soundtrack for Michael Mann&#8217;s <em>The Keep<\/em> (previously a scarce limited edition), together with the complete concert from the Dominion Theatre, London. Also out in October, Dark Entries will be releasing a further collection of recordings from the recently discovered tape archive of Patrick Cowley. The new album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darkentriesrecords.com\/store\/vinyl\/lp\/patrick-cowley-some-funkettes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Some Funkettes<\/em><\/a>, will comprise unreleased cover versions, one of which,\u00a0<em>I Feel Love<\/em> by Donna Summer, is a cult item of mine that Cowley later refashioned into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5Ocq8UlLuuw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a celebrated megamix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;Did you know that <em>Video Killed The Radio Star<\/em> was inspired by a JG Ballard story?&#8221; asks <a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/did-you-know-that-video-killed-the-radio-star-was-inspired-by-a-j-g-ballard-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Molly Odintz<\/a>.
