Better value than these\u2014and always unpredictable\u2014is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artforum.com\/print\/201910\/john-waters-81340\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Waters<\/a>&#8216; choice of favourite films; unpredictable and enlightening are the Secret Satan selections at Strange Flowers which come in two flavours: <a href=\"https:\/\/strangeflowers.wordpress.com\/2019\/12\/02\/secret-satan-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">books originally published in English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/strangeflowers.wordpress.com\/2019\/12\/07\/secret-satan-2019-translation-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">books translated from other languages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <em>Flash Of The Spirit<\/em> (1988), a collaboration between Jon Hassell and African group Farafina (with production by Hassell plus Brian Eno &amp; Daniel Lanois), receives its first ever reissue on <a href=\"https:\/\/burningshed.com\/jon-hassell_farafina_flash-of-the-spirit_double-vinyl_cd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">double-vinyl<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/burningshed.com\/jon-hassell_farafina_flash-of-the-spirit_cd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CD<\/a> next year. The last piece on the album is the 11-minute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GikejgFEDwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Masque (Strength)<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;In 1968, Federico Fellini decided he was going make the greatest homosexual movie ever made. What he meant by a homosexual movie, no one was quite sure, but it was going to be great.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/dangerousminds.net\/comments\/fellini_originally_wanted_to_cast_the_beatles_mae_west_groucho_marx_and_dan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Gallagher<\/a> on Federico Fellini&#8217;s delirious (and distinctly homosexual) <em>Satyricon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;Here&#8217;s the typography of the next decade; the age of font minimalism is coming to a close,&#8221; says <a href=\"https:\/\/theoutline.com\/post\/8385\/didones-font-of-the-decade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rachel Hawley<\/a>.
