The author&#8217;s name is set in Marvin (see below).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Revelation of the week is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychedelicbabymag.com\/2018\/05\/igor-wakhevitch-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\">a lengthy, career-spanning interview with Igor Wakh\u00e9vitch<\/a>, the French composer whose extraordinary run of albums from the 1970s are cult items in these parts. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/2006\/08\/06\/the-music-of-igor-wakhevitch\/\" target=\"_blank\">Previously<\/a>) Wakh\u00e9vitch isn&#8217;t exactly reclusive but he lives in India, and hasn&#8217;t recorded anything since the 1980s, so in recent years he wasn&#8217;t visible or even known much at all outside France. The release in 1998 of a CD collection, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Igor-Wakh\u00e9vitch-Donc\/release\/511948\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Donc&#8230;<\/em><\/a>, and a handful of vinyl reissues, brought him out of obscurity, although all the reissues to date have been in limited quantities. Work of this quality really warrants a wider release.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glacialmovements.com\/music-news\/paul-schuetze-the-sky-torn\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Sky Torn Apart<\/em><\/a> is a new album by Paul Sch\u00fctze, his first for several years. Very good it is too, 56 minutes of growling and glittering atmospherics that could equally suit the enervating heights of summer (as in Wendy Carlos&#8217;s drone piece from <em>Sonic Seasonings<\/em>) as the depths of winter, the inspiration being the apocalyptic cycles of Norse mythology.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 At Lambda Literary: Cathy Camper talks to cartoonist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lambdaliterary.org\/interviews\/05\/14\/justin-hall\/\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Hall<\/a> about his planned film, <em>No Straight Lines<\/em>, about the history of queer comics. There&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1077551457\/no-straight-lines-four-decades-of-queer-comics\" target=\"_blank\">Kickstarter<\/a> for the project, and more background detail at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerclick.com\/qc\/2018\/05\/no-straight-lines-an-upcoming-documentary-about-queer-comics-shows-the-importance-of-visibility-for-lgbtq-artists-and-readers.php\" target=\"_blank\">QueerClick<\/a> (NSFW).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Introducing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.readvisions.com\/marvin\" target=\"_blank\">Marvin Visions<\/a>, a digital revival of <a href=\"https:\/\/fontsinuse.com\/typefaces\/10891\/marvin\" target=\"_blank\">Marvin<\/a>, a photoset typeface first launched in 1969, and very popular during the 1970s on science-fiction cover designs.
