Among the later scenes are shots of the writer visiting Britain in the autumn of 1982 for the Final Academy events, a visit also recorded on Super-8 by Derek Jarman, and by the video cameras of the Ha\u00e7ienda nightclub at a reading I was fortunate to attend. Included in the Brookner film are brief snatches of <a href=\"https:\/\/dangerousminds.net\/comments\/william_s._burroughs_on_the_cut-up_technique_and_meeting_samuel_beckett_bob\" target=\"_blank\">an interview with Burroughs for BBC Radio 1<\/a> by John Peel&#8217;s producer, John Walters, something I missed when it was first broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Taro Okamoto\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tower_of_the_Sun\" target=\"_blank\">Tower of the Sun<\/a> was built in Osaka for Expo &#8217;70, and unlike many one-off expo buildings has managed to survive years of neglect and threats of demolition. Visitors to the Tower may now explore <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spoon-tamago.com\/2018\/03\/18\/tower-of-the-sun-interior-open\/\" target=\"_blank\">the restored &#8220;Tree of Life&#8221; interior<\/a>, although places are limited so it&#8217;s necessary to <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.co.jp\/translate?prev=_t&amp;hl=ja&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=http:\/\/taiyounotou-expo70.jp\/&amp;sl=ja&amp;tl=en\" target=\"_blank\">book in advance<\/a>. Related: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expomuseum.com\/1970\/\" target=\"_blank\">Expo &#8217;70<\/a> at ExpoMuseum, and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NGu_in4-lWE\" target=\"_blank\">Tower Of The Sun<\/a><\/em> (1997) by Shonen Knife.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Also at Dangerous Minds this week: a 1969 TV recording of Krzysztof Penderecki&#8217;s notorious <a href=\"https:\/\/dangerousminds.net\/comments\/pendereckis_the_devils_of_loudun\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Devils of Loudon<\/em><\/a>, an opera based on the same Aldous Huxley book as Ken Russell&#8217;s <em>The Devils<\/em>, and which includes (among other things) a singing nun enduring a forced enema.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The new Cavern Of Anti-Matter album, <em>Hormone Lemonade<\/em>, is released this week. XLR8R has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xlr8r.com\/news\/2018\/03\/tim-ganes-cavern-of-anti-matter-shares-new-psychedelic-track\/\" target=\"_blank\">a preview<\/a>.
