Elsewhere, Carrington&#8217;s centenary was noted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phantasmaphile.com\/2017\/04\/happy-100th-birthday-leonora-carrington.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phantasmaphile<\/a> (with many links), <a href=\"https:\/\/strangeflowers.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/06\/the-surreal-century-of-leonora-carrington\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strange Flowers<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lrb.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/04\/06\/chloe-aridjis\/a-leonora-carrington-a-to-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LRB<\/a>, the latter being a Leonora Carrington A-Z by Chloe Aridjis.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/therecord\/2017\/04\/02\/522328217\/ikutaro-kakahashi-founder-of-roland-drum-machines-dies-at-87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Geeta Dayal<\/a> on Ikutaro Kakehashi who died this week. The synthesizers, drum machines, effects units and other gear produced by Kakehashi&#8217;s Roland Corporation are inextricably entwined with the development of electronic music in the 1970s and 80s.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Do we really need a compilation of singles by Can? Not when all the music has been available for years on albums and compilations.
