The life and work of Brion Gysin (1916\u20131986) is the subject of a new exhibition, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.octobergallery.co.uk\/exhibitions\/2015gys\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Unseen Collaborator<\/a><\/em>, that opened last week at October Gallery, London. The gallery page mentions Gysin&#8217;s connections to the music world: among other things, it was\u00a0Gysin&#8217;s enthusiasm for the Master Musicians of Jajouka that gave those people and their music global prominence, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discogs.com\/Master-Musicians-Of-Joujouka-The-Brian-Jones-Presents-The-Pipes-Of-Pan-At-Joujouka\/master\/84730\" target=\"_blank\">with a little help from Brian Jones<\/a>. But there are other connections, whether as a collaborator with Steve Lacy, or as a decorator of album covers.
