Recent (and not-so-recent) Wildean links.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The BookBench above is one of several pieces of street furniture placed around London last autumn all of which were based on literary works past and present. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booksabouttown.org.uk\/?action=ViewBench&amp;Id=6\" target=\"_blank\">Trevor Skempton&#8217;s design for Oscar Wilde<\/a> was based on <em>The Importance of Being Earnest<\/em> which wouldn&#8217;t have been my choice (<em>Dorian Gray<\/em>, please). See the rest of the designs <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booksabouttown.org.uk\/?action=ListBenches\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/arts-entertainment\/theater\/2015\/01\/20\/rare-play-about-oscar-wilde-will-return-nyc\" target=\"_blank\">Rare Play About Oscar Wilde Will Return to NYC<\/a>&#8220;: John Gay&#8217;s solo play <em>Diversions &amp; Delights<\/em> will get its first professional New York staging since Vincent Price performed it on Broadway in 1978.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Chapter Three, \u201cStrike a Pose,\u201d concerns Wilde\u2019s visit to the New York studio of the celebrated portrait photographer Napoleon Sarony, where he posed for twenty-seven portraits.
