(It&#8217;s also the only radio show I&#8217;ve appeared on, oddly enough.) Some of Barker&#8217;s shows, which predominantly feature dub and reggae artists, can now be heard at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixcloud.com\/otwradio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mixcloud<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;As protagonist after protagonist is undone by temptation and lust, one can\u2019t help but divine a sinister double entendre in the book\u2019s title \u2013 something nocturnal and obscene.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/2\/8e3b90fc-efce-11e3-9b4c-00144feabdc0.html\" target=\"_blank\">James Lovegrove<\/a> on the reissue of Robert Aickman&#8217;s 1964 collection of &#8220;strange stories&#8221;, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faber.co.uk\/catalog\/dark-entries\/9780571311774\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dark Entries<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theawl.com\/2014\/06\/a-man-walks-into-a-boxing-ring\" target=\"_blank\">Coil vs. Kenny Loggins<\/a> sounds like no contest, and so it proved in 1988 at the Mike Tyson\/Michael Spinks fight. There&#8217;s another surprising connection between Tyson and Industrial culture with the poster that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fontfont.com\/fonts\/tokyo\/in-use\" target=\"_blank\">Neville Brody<\/a> designed for the boxer&#8217;s Tokyo bout.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewire.co.uk\/in-writing\/essays\/ventriloquism_a-short-history\" target=\"_blank\">Ventriloquism: Unheimlich manoeuvres<\/a>: Sarah Angliss (who performs as <a href=\"http:\/\/spacedog.bandcamp.com\/album\/juice-for-the-baby\" target=\"_blank\">Spacedog<\/a>) on the history of ventriloquist dummies. With a bonus appearance from the great Ray Alan and Lord Charles. Related: the <a href=\"http:\/\/venthavenmuseum.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vent Haven Museum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 I&#8217;ve been wanting to read Proust&#8217;s <em>\u00c0 la recherche du temps perdu<\/em> for years but always hesitate over which translation to choose.
