Many of them worked for American magazines which were seldom seen over here: both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johncoulthart.com\/feuilleton\/2011\/11\/16\/the-art-of-mel-odom\/\">Mel Odom<\/a> and George Stavrinos provided illustrations for <em>Blueboy<\/em> while Stavrinos was popular enough to be given the cover treatment from <em>Christopher Street<\/em> in 1978. Stavrinos is rightly remembered for his stunning <a href=\"http:\/\/coilhouse.net\/2011\/09\/deco-future-the-seductive-draftsmanship-of-george-stavrinos\/\" target=\"_blank\">Art Deco-styled fashion illustrations<\/a> but there was enough work in the gay press for him to be regarded as an important artist in that sphere.
