In the United Arab Emirates, some women particularly older ones wear metal mask things – frequently resembling hawk heads (or that’s what they reminded me of). Not as decorative as the pictures you’ve posted, but maybe a market there?

The traditional Arabian masks are apparently called Batoola.

His whole site is delightful, and I was surprised (though for what reason, I can’t say) to see Amanda Lepore as one of his models. She certainly gets around.
