I haven’t seen an interview with him or a statement about his precise reasons for doing this. My customary dig at the art market is one explanation but I’d imagine he was doing it more for the fun and simply because he can. I love the artist photos.

And as far as the art world is concerned, it does no harm to have a unique angle to your work. Being six different people sets him apart from the painterly crowd.

Amazing and possibly good fun to do, but I hate the idea of anyone feeling he (or she) is forced into something like this just to be themselves…
