No wonder people used to <a href="http://www.johncoulthart.com/feuilleton/2007/07/06/chiaroscuro-ii-joseph-wright-of-derby-1734–1797/" rel="nofollow">look at Greek statuary by candlelight</a>. This reminds me that I was going to do a post of some favourite pictures of Narcissus at some point. Sometimes sculpture has the edge on painting, doesn’t it? No wonder people used to look at Greek statuary by candlelight.
