When Ellison was writing "Demon with a Glass Hand," he first had the villain chasing the hero all around Los Angeles, stopping at various landmarks. The producer (?) of the show told Ellison that would be too expensive to film, and showed him the Bradbury. Ellison agreed that this would work even better. I have a vague recollection that Ellison saw the Bradbury as having different levels with different architectural styles representing -- or evoking -- different eras, but I might misremember.

Ellison wrote this in one of his books, maybe one of the Glass Teats.
