I understood that a biography of Cameron was being prepared and I thought it was going to be published by Oxford University Press.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I read some of this on an old Kenneth Anger Messenger Board that used to be up. Now it's gone.

Thanks if anyone can help.

The piece shown above is from 1962 so there's no surprise there with regard to her earlier art purge. Other works in that exhibition were from the Sixties also.

I am curious as to who had this rare piece of art. In the late 50's she burned most of her paintings in a symbolic suicide performed with her husband Sherif Kimmel after a several day binge on speed. While she was burning her artwork, he was slitting his wrists and she became a widow. I am curious as to how this one survived...whom she had given it to...

Hi Don and thanks. As far as a Cameron biography goes, there's a gentleman in Los Angeles, Scott Hobbs, who is or was making a documentary film about her. I don't have any further details than that, unfortunately.

I wish someone would come out with a book of Cameron and Rosaleen Norton's art and lives side-by-side. Thank so much for this lovely site.

Xeper.
