It has been really good to read of your enthusiasm for Metabolist music, it was all a long time ago but I agree still sounds great. It may interest you all to know that Malcolm has recently released a CD with his band The Luminaries , for more information go to- www.myspace.com/theluminariesfortythousandpieces

Mark, if you're reading this, I'm the Gav in the above; I have a few queries about Metabolist, if you have any interest in talking about this further you can contact me through John. And if you don't, great to read your comment nonetheless - Metabolist were a very formative influence upon me, seemed like a very important band at the time, and are still bizarrely under-represented in 'post-punk' histories. Hopefully that will change.

Hi Morgan and thanks for dropping by, I believe the aforementioned Gav has been in touch. We're both big fans of Miniatures (he has the vinyl, I bought the CD) so it's good to hear they're due to reappear.

I produced the "Miniatures" album for which Metabolist made a track in 1980. I'd really like to contact any members of the band, so if you are out there, or know them, please kindly go to my website where there is a clear link for you to email me (don't reply here as I rarely visit this site I'm afraid). Many thanks! - Morgan Fisher

Hi Scotty. Much as I'd love to upload something, I'd be asking for trouble doing it, although from what I've heard the former band members aren't too concerned with their previous musical existence.

I'd suggest you (or anyone else eager to hear these recordings) keep searching Google's blog listings. Blogger is home to many mp3 blogs which specialise in posting rare or out of print albums. Mutant Sounds is a good place to start looking as well.

This has brought back some great memories - bought the Metabolist stuff late 70's early 80's.... still have the originals!
(no cassattes sadly) - any idea's where you can get the mp3's from?
As I mentioned I have the originals but I don't own a record player anymore... so I really would like some way of listening to them again ..

Very exciting stuff it was, too. http://atlantisaudioarchive.blogspot.com/ have posted a Metabolist live in 1978 (!!!) concert ( a hitherto unknown gem... it's good!) as well as the Goatmanaut and Stagmanaut cassettes. The revival/rediscovery is underway!
